regarding the treatment of the Personal Information you have shared with Canam. This privacy
policy will inform you of the purposes for which Canam collects your Personal Information and
your options regarding this collection, how Canam uses and divulges your Personal Information
as well as the storing, security and destruction methods used to treat your Personal Information
collected by Canam. This privacy policy is also intended to inform you of your rights regarding
the access and rectification of your Personal Information collected by Canam, and the procedures
to file a complaint with Canam regarding your Personal Information.

1. Definitions
In this privacy policy, unless the context indicates otherwise, the following terms have the
following meaning:
Personal Information: means any information that directly or indirectly identifies an individual,
such as a home address, personal e-mail address, personal telephone number, date of birth or
social insurance number. Business contact information such as an employee’s name, position,
place of work, business e-mail address and telephone number are not considered Personal
Information.

Privacy Incident: means the unauthorized access to Personal Information, the unauthorized use
or disclosure of Personal Information, the loss of Personal Information, or any other breach in
the protection of Personal Information: sending an e-mail containing Personal Information to the
wrong person; theft or loss of a computer, tablet or cell phone used for business purposes; loss of
data caused by a virus, computer vulnerability or human error; unauthorized access, retrieval or
disclosure of Personal Information; the use of Personal Information for purposes other than those
for which it was collected or those to which the person concerned has consented; a ransomware
attack; intrusion into Canam’s computer system; intrusion into a computer, tablet or cell phone
used for business purposes.

Profiling: means the collection and use of Personal Information to assess certain characteristics
of an individual, including to analyze the individual’s job performance, economic status, health,
personal preferences, interests, or behaviour.

Anonymized Personal Information: means Personal Information that no longer makes it possible,
at any time and in an irreversible manner, to identify a person directly or indirectly.

Depersonalized Personal Information: means information that no longer enables the direct
identification of the person concerned.

Sensitive Personal Information: means information that, because of its medical, biometric or
other intimate nature, or because of the context in which it is used or communicated, gives rise to
a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Third Party: means any person external to Canam.

Business Transaction: means the alienation or lease of all or part of a business or its assets, a
change in its legal structure by merger or otherwise, obtaining a loan or any other form of
financing, or a lien taken to guarantee obligations.

2. Collection and use of your Personal Information
By providing your Personal Information to Canam, you agree that Canam may collect and use
such information per this Privacy Statement. You also have the right to access, rectify, modify
and delete your Personal Information at any time.

This Personal Information is accessible only to Canam employees who need access to it in the
course of their work, is considered confidential and will be treated as such by Canam, which
keeps it in a secure environment.

In processing job applications, Canam collects and processes your Personal Information through
the recruitment platform of its supplier SmartRecruiters. This Personal Information is accessible
only by Canam employees who need access to it in the course of their work. However, in the
event of a problem with the platform, the SmartRecruiters support team may also have access to
your Personal Information to help Canam resolve the problem. If you would like to know more
about SmartRecruiters’ privacy practices, please refer to their privacy statement.

Canam may collect the following Personal Information:
 Name
 Home Address
 Personal e-mail address
 Personal telephone number
 Date of birth
 Resume
 Criminal record report (only for those applying for certain types of employment)
 Medical information (only for those applying for certain job categories)
 Bank details

Canam collects this Personal Information for the following reasons:
 To help protect the business interests of Canam and its customers;
 To recruit new employees;
 To personalize your experience on Canam’s website;
 To meet legal requirements.

Canam is concerned about the protection of the Personal Information it collects and undertakes
to ensure that the necessary security measures are employed to ensure the protection of this
information.

Canam will only use your Personal Information for the purposes for which it was collected
unless we obtain your consent to use it for a different purpose. However, Canam may use your
Personal Information for a purpose other than that stated, without your consent, only in the
following cases:
 When it is used for purposes compatible with those for which it was collected;
 When its use is clearly for the benefit of the person concerned;
 When its use is necessary for the prevention and detection of fraud or the evaluation and
improvement of protection and security measures;
 When its use is necessary for the supply or delivery of a product or service requested by
the person concerned;
 When its use is necessary for studies, research or the production of statistics and when it
is depersonalized.
Once the purposes for which Canam collects or uses Personal Information have been fulfilled,
Canam will ensure that the Personal Information is destroyed or depersonalized.

3. Communication of Personal Information
Canam will not disclose, sell, rent, or share your information with third parties without your
consent.
Canam may share some of your Personal Information with its service providers, such as
recruiting and medical experts. These service providers may be located outside the province of
Quebec.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, Canam may, without your consent, communicate to a Third Party
your Personal Information that is necessary for:
 our Legal Department and our external legal services;
 the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales if the information is required for a
prosecution for an offence under applicable law;
 to a person or body charged by law with the prevention, detection or suppression of crime
or breaking the law, who requires it in the performance of his or her duties, if the
information is necessary for the prosecution of an offence under an applicable law;
 to a person to whom it is necessary to communicate the information within the
framework of an applicable law or for the application of a collective agreement;
 to a public body within the meaning of the Act respecting access to documents held by
public bodies and the protection of personal information (Quebec) or any other similar
applicable law which, through a representative, collects the information in the exercise of
its powers or the implementation of a program under its management;
 to a person or body with the power to compel disclosure who requires it in the
performance of his or her duties;
 to a person to whom this communication must be made because of an emergency
endangering the life, health or safety of the person concerned;
 to a person or organization, as part of a mandate or service contract, or as part of a
commercial transaction;
 to a person who may use the information for study, research or statistical purposes per the
law, provided that a privacy impact assessment is conducted prior to such disclosure;
 to a person who, by law, may collect debts for Canam and who requires it for this purpose
in the performance of his or her duties.
In the event that Canam discloses or communicates your Personal Information outside the
province of Quebec, Canam undertakes, in addition to having obtained your prior consent to such
communication, to carry out a privacy impact assessment.

4. Consent
By using Canam’s website, you accept and agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound
by and comply with this Privacy Statement. The same applies if you apply for a job and thereby
transmit certain personal information to Canam.

By providing registration information and submitting information through interactive features of
the Canam website, you consent to all actions that Canam takes with respect to such information
in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

An individual may withdraw his or her consent to the use or disclosure of his or her Personal
Information to Third Parties at any time, subject to the exceptions detailed in this Privacy
Statement. To do so, the individual must contact Canam’s Privacy Officer.

5. Privacy Incident
If Canam is the victim of a Privacy Incident and your Personal Information is affected, Canam
will notify you if the incident poses a risk of serious harm to you.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Canam will not notify a person whose Personal Information is
affected by the incident if disclosure would impede an investigation by a person or body that is
required by law to prevent, detect or suppress crime or breaking the law.

6. Use of Non-Personal Information

Most major sites, including Canam’s, use these technologies to better serve their customers or
users. These include cookies, Web beacons, the Facebook pixel and other data analysis and
personalization service technologies, which allow the collection of personal information. This
personal information includes the user’s country of origin and language. In addition, cookies
collect data relating to a user’s session and browsing preferences.

However, it should be noted that this personal information is, from the moment it is collected,
anonymized, i.e. it does not allow, at any time and in an irreversible manner, the direct or indirect
identification of a person. Anonymized Personal Information also does not enable us to draw up
user profiles. It is compiled to provide statistical data on traffic patterns and to measure the
effectiveness of our websites. We may use this data to improve site content and determine which
services or features are most important to our users.

Tracked conversions generated by the Facebook pixel may be used to measure the effectiveness
of advertisements, to define personalized audiences for ad targeting, for dynamic ad campaigns
and to analyze the effectiveness of the website’s conversion funnels.

Although Canam makes every effort to ensure that Third Parties do not access your Personal
Information, Internet communications are subject to interception, loss, or alteration.

Our various websites may contain hyperlinks to other sites. If you decide to access Third Party
sites using these links, you do so voluntarily. These links are provided for your reference only.
As these sites were developed by Third Parties, Canam has no control over them and therefore
assumes no responsibility for them.

9. Copyright
All content on Canam’s websites is the property of Canam. It is protected by intellectual property
laws and regulations, including copyright laws, and may not be used, reproduced or
communicated without the prior written consent of Canam.

10. Access, Rectification and Withdrawal Rights
An individual whose Personal Information is collected and retained by Canam may inquire about
the Personal Information collected, the people within the company who can access it, and the
duration of information retention. An individual may also ask Canam to provide a copy of the
Personal Information that Canam has. Access to Personal Information is free of charge.
However, a reasonable fee may be charged for the transcription, reproduction or transmission of
such information.

In the event of a change in one’s Personal Information, the person must contact the Privacy
Officer in writing advising them of such change.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Canam may refuse to disclose Personal Information to an
individual where disclosure of the information could reasonably be expected to:
 interfere with an investigation conducted by its internal security department to prevent,
detect, or suppress crime or crime or, on its behalf, by an external department with the
same purpose or a security guard or investigation agency licensee issued in accordance
with applicable laws;
 have an effect on legal proceedings in which any of these persons has an interest;
 to reveal Personal Information about a Third Party or the existence of such information
and that such disclosure would be likely to cause serious harm to such Third Party, unless
the Third Party consents to such disclosure or it is an emergency endangering the life,
health or safety of the person concerned;
